Exploring Taipei Grand Trail Section 2
A general introduction about Taipei Grand Trail on Taipei Times:
The Taipei Grand Trail is a 90-kilometer hiking trail that encompasses over 100 existing hiking trails, linking the main mountainous areas that surround the Taipei basin in Taiwan. Divided into seven sections, the trail offers breathtaking scenery and challenging terrains that attract many hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
In a recent effort to promote the trail, the Taipei City Government is offering souvenir towels and certificates to encourage people to explore this hidden gem.
This was my last exploration of the Taipei Grand Trail. Section 2 is said to be the most difficult trail to hike as it requires climbing by hand. For this reason, I need to walk on the trail on a day without rain (which is pretty difficult in the summer of Taipei!)
Section 2 starts with the Erziping Recreation Area which section 1 has covered. I saw a charming lotus lake here. The last time when I passed by while hiking Section 1, the lotus had not yet blossomed. For this time, it had, as if it was informing me of the summer day coming.
